In 1970 the Red Army Faction was founded by Ulrike Meinhof and Andreas
Baader. In 1998 the disbandment was explained in an official piece of
writing. The installation "RAF (1970-1998)” takes place underground
in a
small room on the lowest level of Merianplatz underground station.
>From this room you can see the track through a small viewing window.
This room is where one of the employees of the transport system used to
work. Here there is a wash hand basin, fluorescent overhead lighting, a
table, a chair, a shelf, a telephone. The room is registered on the
main switchboard under the number "613”. The installation can
only be
seen by the viewer/listener from the track, in other words from the
outside, through the little window. The room has not been further
enhanced by Christoph Korn: 1 table, 1 chair, 1 wash hand basin, 1
telephone, overhead lighting. In addition a PA system has been added,
which plays very loud noise/sound structures. But only a fraction of
the decibels penetrate the thick walls to the viewer/listener.
